The old saying goes, “Be careful what you say!”  The updated version of that saying should probably be something more like, “Be careful what you post!”  It is a good piece of advice if you are involved in an Orlando Divorce, Paternity or other Family Law matter.  It may seem like the popular option is to have as many Facebook friends as possible, but remember that the more people that see a negative post or “unflattering” picture, the more likely you will see it used against you in a court of law.  The ability to take a screen shot means that deleting something after it has been posted to the internet will not always mean it is gone for good.

At Family Law of Orlando, we advise our clients to always use caution when posting on the internet, texting and emailing.  If you don’t want to see it used against you, don’t put it in writing.  If you would like more information regarding social media or any other aspect of your Orange County, Seminole County or Osceola County family law matter, please contact us to schedule an initial consultation.  We can be reached by email or by calling (407) 835-9900.
