The state of Florida requires that at least one party in a divorce or dissolution of marriage proceeding has lived in Florida for at least 6 months prior to filing for divorce.  There are several ways to prove residency.  The simplest proof is if one party has a valid Florida driver’s license, Florida identification card or voter registration card that was issued more than 6 months prior to filing for divorce.  If that is not the case, you can have someone who knows that you or your spouse has lived in Florida for more than 6 months testify to that in court.  Lastly, you could use an Affidavit of Corroborating Witness form.  The form must be signed by the person corroborating your residency and their signature must be notarized.
