There is no presumption by the Court in favor of or against a request to relocate with a child.  The Court must consider several factors in reaching a decision regarding a proposed relocation.  Some of these factors include the child’s relationship to each parent; the age/development of the child; the feasibility of preserving the relationship between the child and non-relocating parent; the child’s preference; whether the relocation will enhance the quality of life for the child and relocating parent; the reason the non-relocating parent is opposing the relocation; current employment of each parent.
